Atwood Baptist Church Hosts School Supply Give-a-way
For the 3rd year in a row, the Atwood Baptist Church sponsored their Annual School Supply Giveaway event the evening of August 11.
Typically, this event is a Block Party that consists of Bounce Houses, Games, Free Hot Dogs, Drinks and School Supplies. However due to COVID-19, this year’s event was revised to a “drive-thru” event as volunteers masked up to distribute bags of supplies, book bags and candy.
Over $1,000 of school supplies and book bags were handed out to help over 120 kids begin the school year. The church also donated 120 milk crates to the Atwood Grade School for kids to store their supplies at their desks since the school lockers will not be in use this year.
Several free back to school haircuts were distributed and donated by His N Hers Cutz of Atwood as well as fresh vegetables provided by the Church Foodbank Ministry.
