Brandenburg Commits To Illinois College. A lifelong dream became a reality as Cerro Gordo senior Riley Brandenburg signed to play not only volleyball but also track and field for the Lady Blues at Illinois College in Jacksonville this fall on Thursday in front of her family and friends. She has played volleyball since the fourth grade along with the club volleyball team Peak Performance. Brandenburg has a 3.9 GPA and ranks 3rd currently in her class at Cerro Gordo High School and will receive her associate’s degree in science from Richland Community College in the spring. Her major at IC will be political science with the intention to transfer to law school. She holds the Block Record for CGB and was named to the Lincoln Prairie Conference 2nd team in both volleyball and basketball last year and competes in triple jump, long jump, hurdles, and 4×4 relay in track.
