Michael Gene Nofrey
Michael Gene Nofrey, 71, of Arthur, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the Arthur Cemetery with Pastor Jill Bunker officiating. Military Rites will be accorded by the Arthur American Legion Post and U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur.
Mike was born August 20, 1949 in Decatur, the son of Paul Gene and Mildred Laverne Howell Nofrey.
He is survived by his daughter, Shawn (Roger Clark) Nofrey of Vero Beach, Florida; son, Rich Meeks of Arthur; sister, Pamela Resler of Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Hunter, Angie, and Tera.
Mike graduated from Arthur High School. He retired from Quantum Chemical Company after 40 years. He attended the Arthur United Methodist Church.
Mike served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War where he received 2 Bronze Service Stars. He was a member of the Arthur American Legion Post and the NRA.
