Saloma J. (Hochstetler) Stutzman

Saloma J. (Hochstetler) Stutzman, 98 years, 4 months, 19 days, of Arcola, passed away at 8:05 P.M. on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at her residence.

Funeral services were held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Stutzman Family residence, 421 North County Road 400 East, Arcola. Bishop Ervin Plank officiated. Burial was in the Miller Cemetery in rural Arcola. Visitation was held anytime after 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 and anytime after 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the family residence. The Edwards Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Saloma was born on July 3, 1922 in Hutchinson, KS. She was a daughter of Joe J. and Fannie E. (Nisly) Hochstetler. She married Eli J. Stutzman on December 25, 1947 in Arcola. He passed away on January 22, 2002.

She is survived by 4 children, Barbara Ann Schrock and her husband Alvin of Arcola, Ervin E. Stutzman and his wife Sara Mae of Sullivan, Jacob M. Stutzman and his wife Mary Ann of Arcola, and Wilma E. Hostetler and her husband Andrew of Arthur, 18 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 42 step-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 28 step-great-great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, Ora Hochstetler of West Farmington, OH, Casper Hochstetler and his wife Wilma of Shipshewana, IN and Monroe Hochstetler and his wife Ruby of Sullivan, 3 sisters-in-law, Mary Hochstetler of Arcola, Katie Ann Hochstetler of Nappanee, IN and Lizzie Hochstetler of Shipshewana, IN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eli J. Stutzman, parents, Joe and Fannie (Nisly) Hochstetler, step-mothers, Barbara Kauffman and Lizzie Bontrager, 2 granddaughters, Anna Stutzman and Dorothy Stutzman, 2 step-great-grandchildren, 6 brothers, Roman, Levi, Perry, Ammon, Lewis and Enos Hochstetler and 1 sister, Susie Davis.

Saloma was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
