LAYTON HALL SIGNS WITH INDIANA STATE. Senior standout cross country runner, Layton Hall signed to continue his running career and education with the Indiana State Sycamores on Wednesday, November 25 in the ALAH High School gymnasium. The Sycamores are a Division I school in the Missouri Valley Conference. Layton is shown here seated with his family dad, Kurt; mom, Darlene; and brother, Logan, who is a Division I runner at the University of Illinois. Extended family members are pictured here with the Halls. Former coaches, administrators, teammates and friends also attended the signing to congratulate him. Layton has been a four-year varsity letter winner in the cross country program and a three-year varsity letter winner in track and field. He was an instrumental part of the Knights 2018 Lincoln Prairie Conference Track and Field Championship Team, the 2019 and 2020 Lincoln Prairie Conference Cross Country Championship Teams, the 2019 and 2020 I.H.S.A. Class A Regional Cross Country Championship Teams, the 2020 I.H.S.A. Class A Sectional Championship Team Cross Country Team, and the 2nd place team at the 2020 Shazam State Cross Country Championships. Hall’s personal Cross County accolades include: four time All-Conference Cross Country; two time individual Regional Champion; Individual Sectional Champion’ three time Individual Conference Cross Country Champion; four time Cross Country State Qualifier; two time All-State Cross Country, finishing 21st in 2018 and 5th in 2020; All-Area News Gazette; WCIA and WAND Athlete Of The Week. His personal accolades for Track and Field include: State Qualifier in the 3200 as freshmen; All-Conference in the 3200 as a freshman; All-Conference in the 1600 and 3200 as a sophomore; State Qualifier in the 3200 and 1600 as a Sophomore; Sectional Champion in the 3200 as a Sophomore; and All-State in the 3200, finishing in 7th place as a sophomore. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Layton has maintained a 4.0 GPA through his high school career, currently ranking him 2nd in the senior class and he is a member of the National Honor Society.
