State Trooper Hanneken Procession. Following the funeral services and first responder walk-through, the funeral procession left the Mt. Zion Intermediate School and followed the detailed route that ended at the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Hundreds of people lined the route paying their respects and showing support for Officer Hanneken and his family. The procession, lined with 2,000 American flags, lasted for over twenty minutes as police vehicles from Arcola, Blue Mound, Champaign, Cherry Valley, Chicago Heights, Macon County, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Palatine, Piatt County, Oakwood, Ogle County, Springfield, and Vernon Hills could be seen for miles.
