Diana Lynn Metheny

Diana Lynn Metheny, 69, of Tuscola, passed away at 9:22 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Mattoon.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Les Evans officiating. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Diana was born on March 10, 1952 in Tuscola, the daughter of Glenn L. and Patricia A. Thomas Hanners. She married Fred L. Metheny on July 15, 2006 in Pesotum, IL. He survives.

Other survivors include her sons: Chris Metheny of Tuscola and Jimmy (Mary) Hennis of Tuscola, step-children: Christina Dalton of Camargo, Patti (Greg) Little of Pesotum and Payton (Abigail) Metheny of Villa Grove, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, brothers: Brad, Rodney, Randy and Donnie Hanners all of Tuscola, sisters: Kathy (Tom) Mann, Rose Mary Hanners and Connie Jo Green all of Tuscola.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Dale E. “Flash” Hanners and sister: Lori Kaye Hanners

Diana formerly worked as the tele-communications manager at Burnham City Hospital for many years. She then worked as an aide at East Prairie and North Ward Schools in Tuscola. She retired from the Tuscola IGA where she worked in the deli for several years.
