Dale Shoemake

Dale Shoemake, 77, of Arcola, died at 8:41 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, with Pastor Matt Stump officiating. Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday. Casual attire requested.

Dale was born December 13, 1943 in Shelbyville, the son of Ira Dale and Pauline Lillian Peachee Shoemake. He was united in marriage to Pamela Jane Morris in Arcola on October 7, 1977.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Shoemake of Arcola; son, Brian James (Jessica) Shoemake of Barrington; daughter, Tiffany (Travis) Drake of Arcola; grandchildren, Nathan James Shoemake, Brody Dale Drake, Hunter Keith Drake, Mia Mae Drake; and twin brother, Dean Shoemake of Arcola.

Dale graduated from Arcola High School Class of 1961. He served in the Illinois National Guard from 1965-1971. He retired from the Natural Gas Pipeline (Kinder Morgan) in Arcola after 35 years.

Dale coached his son’s JFL league from 1991-1994 with his best friend, Bill Veach. He also enjoyed watching his daughter pitch softball. He was a loving husband, good provider, thinker, and loved Purple Rider Football and fishing.
