Gary attended schools in Pana and Boody, IL and graduated from East Park Baptist Academy in 1977. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. John F. Kennedy. During his tour of duty, he traveled extensively to Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. After his service to his country, Gary became somewhat of an entrepreneur, starting and running such ventures as a meat distribution company and an aerial photography business. His interests included golfing, browsing antique stores and garage sales, metal detecting, playing pinochle, mushroom hunting, and eating the hottest peppers he could find. Gary’s favorite thing, though, was spending time with his family and friends. He dearly loved his children, grandchildren, other family members, and friends. Gary would never let you leave without giving you a big hug and a heartfelt “I love you.”

Everyone is then invited to attend a celebration of life service that is being hosted by the family at Price Cemetery, Oconee at 10:00 a.m. with military rites by the Pana Veterans Honor Guard.
