Hilligoss throws a shut out defeating Argenta-Oreana, Knights suffer loss to Warrensburg-Latham

Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond Knight Nik Miller slides headfirst into second base while the throw goes to the back up A-O player. Miller was safe on the play in the game against the Argenta-Oreana Bombers on May 20 which the Knights would win 2-0.

The Knights were on the road Friday as they traveled to Warrensburg-Latham. Falling behind early, they just weren’t able to come back in the 3-7 loss.

The Cardinals fired up the offense scoring on a double by Brayden Closs on a 1-1 count and a double by Aidan Taylor in the first inning.

The Knights racked up seven hits in the contest with Miller and Wyatt Hilligoss each collecting two hits to lead the team.

ALAH was sure-handed and committed no errors in the game. Logan Brough made the most plays with 14.

Nik Miller took the loss for Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond allowing eight hits and seven runs over five and a third innings, striking out 12.

Joey Young was credited with the victory for Warrensburg-Latham. The fireballer lasted five innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out ten and walking one. Greg Allen threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Warrensburg-Latham tallied ten hits on the day.

Wyatt Hilligoss did not allow a single run and allowed just four hits as the Knights defeated Argenta-Oreana 2-0 on Thursday.

The pitching was strong on both sides with Hilligoss striking out eight, while Connor Durham sat down six for the Bombers.

ALAH fired up the offense in the first inning, when Hilligoss’s sacrifice fly scored one run for the Knights.

Hilligoss led Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond to victory on the mound allowing four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking zero.

Quentin Day led the Knights with three hits in three at bats and they did not commit a single error in the field. Clay Seal had 11 chances in the field, the most on the team.

Durham took the loss for the Bombers. Durham went six innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking zero.

Lyerly went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bombers in hits.
