Classical Conversations of Decatur

Classical Conversations of Decatur, a classical Christian homeschool community that meets at Antioch Christian Church, announced their 2021 Memory Masters: Micah Langston, Violet Pflum, and Lily Baker. Memory Masters must demonstrate 100% mastery of the Cycle 3 memory work material, including 161 events and people in a chronological timeline and all the US Presidents. They recite 24 History Sentences, including the Preamble to the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights, which add depth to the timeline, and 120 Geographic features and locations in North America. Students recite 8 verses of John 1 in Latin and English, as well as some Latin vocabulary translation. They are proofed on multiplication facts up to 15×15, common squares and cubes, basic geometry formulas, and unit conversions. Students also recite 24 weeks of English grammar facts and Science facts including the first 12 elements of the periodic table by number, element, symbol, and mass, and the parts of 8 body systems. Memory Masters were recognized at the CC End of Year Celebration, held recently at Antioch Christian Church.
