Hammond’s 4th of July Celebration
The Hammond Community Boosters present the 2021 4th of July celebration to be held on Sunday, July 4.
Start the day off with the Hammond Fire Association annual pancake and sausage breakfast at the Hammond Fire House from 6-10:30 a.m. This is a fundraiser for the fire department and the cost is by donation.
The 4th annual Rachel’s Race 5K Fun Run/Walk will start at 8:00 a.m. Early registration has ended, but you may still register between 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. on July 4 at the Hammond Community Building. All proceeds from the 5K and t-shirts benefit the Hammond fireworks, which Rachel so dearly loved.
Hammond’s 4th of July Celebration Parade will be held at noon. The line-up will be from 11:00-11:45 a.m. and registration will be held in front of the Community Building.
A pork chop dinner will be served at the Hammond United Methodist Church fellowship hall from 4:30-7:00 p.m. The price is $8 and includes a pork chop sandwich, baked beans, chips, dessert, and drink. Eat-in or take-out available.
The Hammond Pub will be having the band “Steel on Steel” playing from 5:00-8:30 p.m. outside on July 4th weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, they will be inside.
Events starting at the Hammond Ball Diamond will begin at 6:30 p.m. will include a DJ, kid’s games, Sally the Clown, and the Atwood-Hammond PTO will have a cotton candy tent.
The evening will end with fireworks starting at dusk (around 9:00 p.m.) also at the ball diamond.
