Mary Virginia Dillon

Mary Virginia Dillon, 96, of Arthur, died December 31, 2020 at the Arthur Home.

She was born June 18, 1924, to John Thomas Dillon and Mary Alma (Bilbrey) Dillon, the youngest of their eleven children.

A private family burial was held at Arthur Cemetery.

A memorial service, delayed due to COVID, is planned for 11:00am on Saturday, July 10 at the First Baptist Church, 120 E. Park St., Arthur. Everyone who knew Mary is welcome to share in this public time of remembering and honoring her life.

Her livelong vocation as a loving Aunt began at age 2, when nephew William (Bill) Dillon was born. She perfected being a beloved Aunt to nieces, nephews, their children and grandchildren.

She radiated love for her family, friends, church, and a series of aristocratic pet cats. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the First Baptist Church of Arthur, and an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

She is survived by her nephews, Gene Kuleff, Larry (Barb) Coward, Lynn (Mary) Coward, Mike (Nancy) Coward and niece Susan (Charlie) Turner. She is survived by great-niece Calene Kohn and great-nephew Brett Dillon, and Mary’s large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, all ten siblings and their spouses.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Arthur, 120 E. Park St., Arthur, IL. 61911.

Shrader Funeral Home, Arthur, assisted the family with arrangements.
