Lake Fork Church to Host Ice Cream and Cemetery Walk

The members of the Historic Lake Fork Church invite the community and those in the surrounding area to our first every Cemetery Walk while enjoying Homemade Ice Cream. This event will take place on Sunday October 3 from 1-4 PM. Lake Fork Church is the oldest church in Piatt County.

Buried in the Harshbarger/Lake Fork Cemetery that surrounds the church are founders of the church, Civil War Veterans, and members of the congregation.

While on the walk you will learn a bit of history about the cemetery itself, some of people buried there and a little bit of cemetery trivia.

The first walk will begin at 1:15 and will start again every half hour. Each walk will last approximately 30 minutes. This is the first time we have hosted a cemetery walk so it will be an adventure for all of us.

While walking you can enjoy our Homemade Ice Cream. You will have a choice of vanilla, pumpkin, lemon, or pineapple flavors.

To enjoy the Ice Cream just give a donation to the church. Don’t want to walk stop to enjoy the Ice Cream.

An additional activity will be making rubbings of some of our grave stones. If you have a family member buried there you can make a rubbing of their stone.

Lake Fork United Church of Christ is located 3 miles north of Atwood at 345 N 1475 East Rd. We hope to see you there.
