MTZ Homecoming starts next week

The Mt. Zion high school homecoming week is back on October 12-16. There will be no events on October 11 due to no school. This year’s homecoming theme is Out of This World.
Tuesday, October 12 is Holiday Day. Students are encouraged to dress as their favorite holiday.
Wednesday, October 13 is Mathletes vs Athletes. Students are encouraged to dress as which one they feel they fit in to.
The homecoming parade will also be on Wednesday at 5 p.m. The parade starts at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home (intersection of W. Main St. and Braves Pkwy), heads northwest on W. Main St., turns left at the intersection of W. Main St. and Bell St. before ending in the Mt. Zion High School park.
Thursday, October 14 is Space Day. Students are encouraged to dress like they’re from outer space.
Friday, October 15 is class color day. Freshman colors are white, sophomores grey, juniors red and seniors black. All dress up days students are to follow dress codes and policy.
Events on Friday include an assembly from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. that will be held on the football field. A variety of games will be played and the homecoming king and queen will be announced. The homecoming football game is at 7 p.m. as the Braves take on Charleston. The Red Rowdies (student section) theme is Pink Out.
On Saturday, October 16 the dance will be held in the Mt. Zion High School’s Fieldhouse from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. No heeled shoes will be allowed to the dance. The coronation will be held at 9 p.m.
All events are subject to change and masks will be worn at all inside events including the dance.
