Pheasants Forever is a habitat and educational organization that has a focus on conservation of the habitat for wildlife. It was started in 1983 and has since merged with Quail Forever to form a nationwide habitat organization.
The fundraising that the local chapter does provides funding in this area for habitat projects, college scholarships to you in our communities, as well as youth hunting and educational efforts in the area.
In recent years the local organization has been hosting an annual youth hunt in the late winter at a game preserve with chapter volunteers providing guide services with bird dogs and mentoring.
Annually, the group has been providing (2) $500 scholarships to youth from the areas with ties to the chapter and activities.
Normally the chapter has been hosting an annual fundraising banquet, but this year they are trying a few new ways to engage the members and communities in the chapter footprint.
Anyone interested is invited to attend and have a great time participating in the raffle or contest; and socialize with fellow upland enthusiasts as their Illinois upland hunting season comes to an end.
