K-9 UNIT RECEIVES DONATION

The Illinois Husbandry and Animal Welfare (IHAW), a local dog breeding organization, made a donation to the Arthur police departments K-9 Unit on December 22 for various ongoing expenses incurred throughout the year.  Presenting Arthur Police Sargent Shaun Meredith and Kudo with the $2,000 check is IHAW Membership Secretary, Willard Herschberger and IHAW Past President Allan Miller.  Their mission is to improve animal welfare through education as they will once again be hosting their annual seminar in May.  Being the only dog “team” in the area, Meredith stated both Douglas and Moultrie counties have reached out to him for assistance.
