Members of the Lake Fork United Church of Christ made Christmas extra special for the community this year with the Christmas on the Prairie Nativity Walk at their church, 3 miles north of Atwood, on Sunday, December 12. The church was decorated for Christmas with over 20 nativity sets from different areas of the world.
The nativity sets were all sizes, from vintage to contemporary. They were from Honduras, Mexico, Brazil, El Salvador, Bethlehem and Germany. They were provided by members of the church and close friends. The idea for the nativity walk was to add to the magical time when people are thinking about the upcoming birth of Jesus.
Please read the cutlines to learn more information about a few of the nativity sets.
There was also a time of singing Christmas carols, a decorated area where people could sit and meditate or have a picture taken, along with a special treat. A nativity walk, what a beautiful addition to the Christmas season.
