Sophia Johnson Is Overall Winner in A-HGS/ Jr.High Spelling Bee, Advances to County Bee

Sophia Johnson was the overall winner at the A-H Grade School/Jr. High Spelling Bee on February 7. She will advance to the county spelling bee in Monticello on February 17. Additional pictures on Page 2.

The A-H Grade School/Jr. High is blessed to have so many great spellers. This fact was evident at the recent Spelling Bee on Monday, February. 7. Sixth grade student Sophia Johnson was the overall winner with the word dependable in 22 rounds. Sophia will be going on to the county spelling bee this Thursday, February 17, in Monticello.

Also attending the county spelling bee will be other grade level winners. Baymen Dyer was the 4th grade winner, Leonard Diaz, 5th grade, Ben Newhouse, 7th grade, and Michael Cassella, 8th grade.

Other participants in the local spelling bee were Kyndall Crist, Ava Jacot, Brianne Schrock, Cassidy Rohacs and Ava Hutchison.

Congratulations to all the students who are participating in the county spelling bee; you will represent your school well. A special thank you to Principal Kristin Nall for providing the information and pictures for this article.
