MTZ track compiles 21 top-3 finishes on Saturday

The Mt. Zion track and field compiled 21 top-three finishes at the 2022 Apollo Conference Boys and Girls invite last Saturday. The girls program finished in first place and the boys team finished in fourth place overall.
On the girls side, Emma Mallory finished in second place in the 800 meters with a personal record time of two minutes and 35 seconds. In the 1600 meters, Braves’ teammates Ellie Fritzsche and Camille Mavis finished in first and third-place. Fritzsche finished in first-place with a personal record time of five minutes and 44 seconds. Mavis finished in third-place with a personal record time of five minutes and 50 seconds.
In the 3200 meters, Braves’ teammates Hailey Betzer and Renee Ballard finished in second and third-place. Betzer finished in second-place with a personal record time of 12 minutes and 11 seconds. Ballard finished in third-place with a personal record time of 12 minutes and 20 seconds.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Braves’ teammates Lydia Trump and Alaina Barr finished in second and third-place. Trump finished in second-place with a time of 10.71 seconds. Barr finished in third-place with a time of 11.13 seconds.
In the 4×200 relay, the Braves’ team of Angelina Henderson, Brooklyn Kondritz, Tatetum Flanigan and Madison Inmann finished in first-place with a time of one minute and 58 seconds. In the 4×400 relay, the Braves’ team of Kondritz, Emma Crowley, Ashleigh Anderson and Sofia Munoz finished in second place with a time of four minutes and 23 seconds.
In the 4×800 relay, the Braves’ team of Munoz, Anderson, Crowley and Mallory finished in first-place with a time of 10 minutes and 15 seconds.
In the high jump, Braves’ teammates Rhiannon Marshall and Hannah Sago finished in first and second-place. Marshall finished in first-place with a jump of 1.55 meters. Sago finished in second-place with a jump of 1.52 meters.
In the pole vault, Braves’ teammates Alexa Weter and Kondritz finished in a tie for first-place. Weter and Kondritz both recorded jumps of 3.03 meters.
On the boys side, Christina Keynes finished in first-place in the 60-meter dash with a new personal record time of 6.96 seconds. In the 200 meters, Braves’ teammates Chrien Petty and Bryson Richardson finished in first and third-place. Petty finished in first-place with a new personal record time of 24.18 seconds. Richardson finished with a time of 25 seconds.
In the 1600 meters, Julian Baker finished in third-place with a personal record time of four minutes and 37 seconds. In the 4×200 relays the Braves’ team of Keyhea, Petty, Kemper Koslofski and Brayden Trimble finished in first-place with a time of one minute and 37 seconds.
In the pole vault, Kyle Hensley finished in first-place with a jump of 4.65 meters for a new personal record. In the long jump, Bryndon Wallace finished in second place with a personal record jump of 5.89 meters.
This week the Mt. Zion girls track team will compete in the Mt. Zion Mini Indoor Meet on Thursday at 4 p.m.
