MTZ girls track compiled 20 top-5 finishes last week
Kalliana Becker leads the pact in the 4×200 meter relay. That team finished in ninth-place in the event for the Braves.

The Mt. Zion girls track team compiled 21 top-five finishes in the Mt. Zion Girls Indoor Mini-Meet last week.
In the 200 meters, Brooklyn Kondritz finished in third-place with a personal-record time of 29.67 seconds. In the 400 meters, Ashleigh Anderson finished in second-place with a personal-record time of one minute and two seconds. Kondritz also competed and finished in fourth-place with a personal-record time of one minute and three seconds.
In the 800 meters, Braves’ teammates Sofia Munoz, Emma Crowley and Camille Mavis finished in third-fifth place respectively. Munoz finished in second-place with a time of 2 minutes and 36 seconds. Crowley finished in third-place with a personal-record time of 2 minutes and 37 seconds. Mavis finished in fifth-place with a time of 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
In the 1600 meters, Braves’ teammates Emma Mallory, Renee Ballard and Hailey Betzer finished in second, third and fifth place respectively. Mallory finished in second-place with a personal-record time of five minutes and 36 seconds. Ballard finished in third-place with a personal-record time of five minutes and 42 seconds. Betzer finished in fifth-place with a personal-record time of six minutes and 10 seconds.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Braves’ teammates Alaina Barr and Lily Ford finished in second and third-place respectively. Barr finished in second-place with a personal-record time of 10.71 seconds. Ford finished in third-place with a time of 11.19 seconds.
In the 4×200 relays, two teams finished within the top-five for the Braves. The Braves’ team of Angelina Henderson, Emma Cox, Crowley and Ford finished in second-place with a time of two minutes and .62 of a second. The Braves’ team of Madison Inman, Tatetum Flanigan, Raleigh Allen and Barr finished in third-place with a time of two minutes and .74 of a second.
In the 4×400 relays, two teams finished within the top-five for the Braves. In first-place, the Braves’ team of Crowley, Mallory, Hannah Sago and Anderson finished with a time of four minutes and 35 seconds. In fifth-place, the Braves’ team of Mavis, Munoz, Hannah Gebke and Ayla DiTommaso finished with a time of five minutes and two seconds.
In the pole vault, Braves’ teammates Kondritz and Allen finished in first and third-place respectively. Kondritz finished in first-place with a personal-record jump of 3.53 meters. Allen finished in third-place with a jump of 2.73 meters.In the 60-meter dash Hillary Owens finished in fifth-place with a time of 8.63 seconds.
In the triple-jump. Sago finished in third-place with a jump of 9.57 meters. In the shot-put, Chloe Karnes finished in fourth-place with a throw of 8.64 meters. In the high jump, Braves’ teammates Sago and Kalliana Becker tied for fourth-place with jumps of 1.42 meters.
The Mt. Zion boys team didn’t compete last week, but will compete in Indoor State and in a four-team meet in Effingham. The Mt. Zion girls team will compete in the Clinton Indoor Invite, a meet in Effingham and Indoor State.
