Illinois Spring weather finally allowed the ALAH Knights track squads to open the outdoor season Tuesday, April 5. Playing host to Neoga, Tri-County, and Blue Ridge, both men’s and women’s teams posted convincing wins.
Alexa Miller paced the ladies with wins in 4 events. She dominated the short sprints and Triple Jump while ripping off an excellent leg on the 4 x 100 relay. Joining her on the quartet were Annika Beachy, Kaitlyn Zander, and Skyler Vork. Zander also opens the season with a win in the 100 Hurdles while Emma Edwards comes from behind to win her maiden effort in the 300 Hurdles. The ladies other winning efforts come compliments of Beachy, Zander, Sarah Rafferty, and Lindsay Rohacs by way of the 4 x 200 relay and the 4 x 800 relay team of Edwards, Hutchcraft, Rafferty, and Rohacs.
Other ladies’ results included Skyler Vorck – 100/13.9/2nd PR. Lucy Wilber – 100/16.8/10th. Evanger Wiley – 400/1:29.1/5th. Emma Jones – 100 Hurdles/22.2/2nd. Lilian Edwards – 100 Hurdles/24.7/3rd. Jewlyanna Hutchcraft – 300Hurdles/1:00.2/3rd. Emma Jones – 300Hurdles/1:04.7/4th. Lilian Edwards – 300Hurdles/1:19/6th and LJ/11’2”/7th. Makayla Harshbarger – SP/28’9 1/4”/2nd and Discus/78’1”/2nd. Sarah Rogers – SP/25’ 3 ½”/5th. Annika Beachy – LJ/12’ ¼”/6th.
On the boys side, Max Allen matched Miller’s winnings running to 4 first place finishes. He crosses the line 1st in the 3 sprints and the 4×100 relay. Austin Abercrombie doubles up in the throws winning both. The Adcock boys each win an event with Jake prevailing in the 3200 and Lyle capturing the 800. Jace Green takes the 1600 while Ryan Appleby prevails in the 110 Hurdles. The Knight’s relay squads both win with Max and Mason Allen, Keaton Korando, and Landon Waldrop in the 4×100, and Logan Beckmier, Tanner Beckmier, Jacob Duzan, and Jace Green in the 4×400.
Tanner Beckmier throws a PR in discus to place 2nd, Jacob Tighe pitches a PR going 4th in SP while Landon Waldrop double PRs winning the Triple Jump (40’1/2”)and going 2nd in Long Jump (20’4 ¼”).
