NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION CEREMONY.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION CEREMONY. The Cerro Gordo chapter of the National Honor Society held their induction ceremony on Tuesday evening April 5 in the auditorium. Senior members of NHS conducted the ceremony and Principal Jeremy Rodebaugh gave congratulatory remarks. Membership is an honor bestowed upon new members who are selected based on scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Rex Colgrove, faculty sponsor for National Honor Society stated, “NHS members at our school are expected to engage in service projects each year. This has been difficult with COVID, but as we are coming out of the pandemic, students have been volunteering in various ways around the school and community, and we have accumulated around three dozen service hours in the last month alone. We plan to have one larger, full group service project later this spring, but we have not planned the details yet.” Those inducted into this years class are Jacey Young, Ali Walker, Lexi Davis, Haylei Simpson, Addie Cripe, Carson Brown, and John Freese. Each new inductee received a certificate and membership pin, and all the senior members received golden honor cords to wear at graduation.
