ALAH JH Boys Track Teams compete at Tuscola meet

Knights’ seventh graders Cooper Shoemaker, left and Coye Grant, right exchange the baton in the 4 X 2 relay in the meet at Tuscola on April 21. Brennon Hutson ran the lead off leg and Owen Herring the anchor in the relay that finished in third with a time of 2:03.6.

The Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond Jr. High boys track teams traveled to Tuscola for a five team meet on Thursday, April 21. For a change, the weather was nice, not cloudy, rainy or cold!!! It made for some great times on the track and PRs both on the track and in the field!

The eighth grade boys took second in the team standings with Cruz Hale winning the 1600 meters, Cash Hale, the high jump and Easton Frederick, the long jump for their first place finishers.

In the seventh grade, there were three individual winners with Preston Gingerich taking first in the 1600 meters, Brennon Hutson, the 110 meter hurdles and Cooper Shoemaker, the high jump. The seventh grade finished in fourth place in the team standings.

The boys were to have an eight team meet in Sullivan on Monday, April 25 before taking part in the 12th annual Mt. Zion Invitational on Saturday, April 30.
