The Knights started off the past week with a game vs Villa Grove on Tuesday. The Knights were led by John Williams at the plate who went 3-4 with two doubles and three RBI’s. Marcus Otto, Max Boddy, Jansen Burnett and Donovan Vanausdoll all had multiple hits in the game as the team put together 16 hits on the day. On the mound, Max Boddy took control for the Knights pitching four inning while only allowing two runs on three hits and striking out nine hitters. Coye Grant and Jansen Burnett pitched in relief on the mound for the Knights who walked away with a 13-5.
Thursday the Knights were home vs Okaw Valley. Big Win! 14-1. Landen Franklin was on the mound for the Knights. Franklin pitched three innings of shut out baseball. He allowed zero runs and zero walks. Preston Gingerich and Griffin Hilton pitched in relief. The Knights had a big game at the plate scoring fourteen runs on thirteen hits. Marcus Otto started off the scoring with a RBI on a double in the first inning. They went on to score eight runs in the second inning. Max Boddy, Preston Gingerich, Kole Binder, John Williams, Marcus Otto and Donovan Vanausdoll all had RBI’s in the second inning for the Knights.
The Knights finished off their week with a game on Saturday at Stewardson-Strasburg. It was a tough loss for the Knights who led most of the game 3-2 and ended up losing 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh when the Comets scored two runs.
The Knights started the game with two runs in the first with Max Boddy and Donovan Vanausdoll each driving in a run. Marcus Otto was on the mound for the Knights. He pitched the entire seven and a third innings striking out five and only walking one.
The Knights are at home this week vs Cerro Gordo Bement on Tuesday and at Tri-County on Thursday.
