An Afternoon/Evening of Halloween Fun in Atwood Sunday, October 30

By Doris Elmore
Staff Writer

Atwood will be crawling with ghosts, goblins, witches, pretty brides, dinosaurs and so much more on Sunday, Oct 30 to participate in the annual Halloween costume parade, sponsored by the Atwood Chamber of Commerce. The parade will begin at 4 p.m. and will be assisted by the Atwood American Legion.

The Atwood Chamber and the Village of Atwood decided to combine Halloween festivities this year, along with Trunk or Treat in the United Church of Atwood parking lot. This will begin immediately after the parade, 5-7 p.m. Anyone in the community is invited to bring their vehicle to the church for Trunk or Treat.

Parade categories include: 3 years & younger, 4-8 years old, 9 to 14 years, 15 years to adult, group, group with pet, group with vehicle. Prizes will be awarded in each category. Parade will be canceled if inclement weather.

A big Thank You to Atwood Village Trustee Chris Stoltz who has been working to bring food trucks to the Atwood Community in recent weeks. Sizzlin Tizzler Food Truck will be parked in the church parking lot from 3-7 p.m. Enjoy wood-fired pizza and sub sandwiches. Check out their FB page, read their menu. It looks great.

This promises to be a great night for lots of Halloween fun.

Atwood Police Chief Rob Bross reminds motorists to please drive safely and watch out for trick or treaters. Costumes make it difficult for children to see cars.
