HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS… Christmas in Bement

HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS… Making an early stop in Bement was Santa Claus as he arrived on the Bement firetruck during the parade held downtown on Saturday morning. Several children lined the streets all waiting to greet him. Following the parade he listened to their lists and took pictures at the Crossroads Church.

Despite the foggy conditions, Bement celebrated the Christmas season on Saturday, December 10 by kicking off the day with a Breakfast with Santa at the Crossroads Church as well as a pancake and sausage breakfast at the Bement United Methodist Church.

The 13th Annual Mike Walsh Memorial Run/Walk began at 9:00 am as over 50 runners and walkers participated followed by the parade which stepped off at 11:00 am. Downtown was filled with families and the children scooped up the candy that was tossed out. The much anticipate arrival of Santa Claus wrapped up the parade entrees.

Pictures with Santa along with free cookies and hot chocolate were available following the parade.

A vendor blender was held until 3:00 pm as shoppers could find that extra special gift and included the JTA Foods cookie walk this year along with some outside vendors as well.

The Bement Community Council sponsored the event.
