Ridgeway Named New Broncos Football Coach

Cerro Gordo High School Class of 2002 graduate and football player Chris Ridgeway was hired to be the next Broncos head football coach last Thursday.

Ridgeway was the head coach at Clinton from 2018-2020 with a 13-12 overall record and qualified for the 4A playoffs in 2019. His first coaching stint was with Cerro Gordo’s JFL program shortly after graduation.

After his departure from Clinton, he returned to coaching JFL in Cerro Gordo last year and was an assistant on the high school team as well.

Ridgeway replaces Nick Walker who resigned at the end of this season. The Broncos were 18-34 under Walker and made the 1A playoffs in 2018.

Coach Ridgeway teaches Special Education and Science at Cerro Gordo High School.
