AHGS SPELLING BEE WINNERS. The Atwood-Hammond Grade School Spelling Bee was held last Thursday with 10 students from 4th-8th grades qualifying to compete. Seventh grade student Bella Romine was the overall winner with the word cottonwood in 15 rounds. Pictured are grade level winners Bella Romine, 7th grade; Carter Fleming, 4th grade; Ava Jacot, 6th grade; Lyndon Cowgill, 5th grade; and Layla Skeeters, 8th grade. They will be competing at the Piatt County Spelling Bee to be held Thursday, February 16 in Atwood. Chrissy Patterson is the AHGS Spelling Bee coordinator and Librarian Renee Brown served as moderator.
