Drew Cotton and Noah Garrett Commit to Play Football at Millikin University

Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School is proud to announce that senior football student-athletes Drew Cotton and Noah Garrett will be committing to continue their athletic participation on the intercollegiate level at Millikin University.

Located in Decatur, Illinois, Millikin is a member school of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) and competes at the NCAA Division III level. The Big Blue are led by Head Coach Carlton Hall. Coach Hall was named Millikin’s head football coach in December of 2021 and has 17 years of collegiate coaching experience. The Big Blue finished the 2022 season with a 4-6 record.

Drew has been a 3 year varsity letter winner in football and was an instrumental part of the Knights winning campaigns the past three seasons. He has been a multi-sport athlete throughout his high school career and has also earned varsity letters in basketball and track and field. Drew’s personal football accolades include, LPC All-Conference second team at linebacker, as well as honorable mention News-Gazette All-Area as a Junior. As a senior, Cotton recorded 86 total tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, 2 interceptions, 5 pass break-ups, 3 catches, 3 touchdowns and earned honorable mention News-Gazette All-Area recognition at linebacker.

Drew is the son of Jeff and Michelle Snyder and Mark Cotton and plans to major in sports management at Millikin.

Noah has been a 3 year varsity letter winner in football and was also an instrumental part of the Knights winning campaigns the past three seasons. Noah’s personal football accolades include:  LPC All-Conference at linebacker as a junior and senior,

News-Gazette All-Area Team at linebacker as a junior and senior, and team defensive MVP as a junior and senior.  As a senior, Noah recorded 77 total tackles, 7 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, 1 interception, 2 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 PAT block, caught 1 touchdown, threw for 2 touchdowns, and was the team leader in kickoff return yards.

Noah is the son of John Garrett and Mashell Hussey and plans to major in accounting at Millikin.

In honor of Drew and Noah’s accomplishments, Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School hosted a reception on Wednesday, February 15 at 3:30 p.m. in the gymnasium at Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School.
