Cerro Gordo Bement Girls Take 2nd at 50th Annual ALAH Invitational

On Saturday, April 8, the Cerro Gordo Bement Lady Broncos track and field team brought home the second-place trophy from the 50th annual ALAH Track and Field Invitational. The Lady Broncos scored points in twelve of the seventeen events contested to finish the meet with 88 points. Tuscola won the girls’ division with 133 points.

The top finisher of the meet for the girls was Jazzi Hicks with a first-place finish in the shot put. Haley Garret scored in three events, she was second in the triple jump and third in both the 100 and 200 meters. Caroline Hill also placed in three events.

She was third in the 400, fourth in the 200 and took fifth in the 100. Gabby Block scored in two events, taking fifth in the 100-meter hurdles and sixth in the 300-meter hurdles. Marley Olson was the last individual scorer with her fourth-place finish in the high jump.

The Lady Broncos also scored points in three relays-the 4 X 100-meter relay of Haylei Simpson, Caroline Hill, Skye Tieman and Haley Garrett earned second place points; Simpson, Madalynn Gant, Tieman, and Reese Brunner were fourth in the 4 X 400-meter relay, and Mariah Corpus, Gabby Block, Ali Walker and Brunner also took fourth in the 4 X 800-meter relay.

The CGB boys team finished in a tie with Warrensburg Latham for ninth place in the team standing in the annual ALAH Invitational on Saturday, April 8.

Senior Jariah Adamson placed in three individual events, taking fifth in the 400 meters, and scoring sixth place points in both the discus and 200-meter dash. Junior Dylan Howell scored in two events, with a fifth-place finish in the 3200 meters and sixth in the 1600. Freshman Will Fuson was fifth in the 800 meters, and with Kade Alumbaugh, Tyce Alumbaugh, and J.P. Brewer scored fifth place points in the 4 X 800-meter relay.
