ALAH Eighth Grade Girls Are ALAH JH Invitational Champions

Seventh Grade Girls Finish Fourth

The Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond eighth grade girls track and field team won their division at the 20th annual ALAH JH Invitational on Saturday, April 15. The scored 113 points to Sullivan’s 65 to take the title. Morgan Casteel was a double winner in the meet finishing first in the 800 and 1600 meters. Teammate Cassidy Rohacs took first in the 100 meter hurdles and the 4 X 100 meter relay of Leighton Poulos, Reece Oye, Rohacs and Maleyna Vanasudoll also claimed a first place finish.

The seventh grade squad finished fourth in their division. The seventh grade 4 X 400 meter relay of Norma Mendoza, Zoey Mendoza, Ella Oye and Sophia Johnson took first in that event. Complete results for the ALAH girls team follows this article.

The ALAH jr. high track and field teams would like to thank everyone who helped with the Invitational this past Saturday. A meet this large, needs lots of volunteers for all kinds of jobs and we are fortunate to have people from all our communities and our schools who are willing to spend the day helping our teams have the best chance to perform at their very best! A huge thank you to everyone that helped make it a success for the 20th time in any way!!

The Jr. High track teams are scheduled to have a meet at Tuscola on Thursday, April 20 before competing in the annual Arcola JH Invite on Saturday, April 22.
