Knights Softball Plays Six Games; Goes 4-2 on the Week

#1 Alisha Frederick is greeted by her Knight softball teammates as she jumps on home plate after hitting a two run homer in the game with Lincoln Prairie Conference foe Arcola. Alisha had three hits, three RBI and two runs scored in the Knights victory.

It was a busy week for the ALAH softball team playing six games in four days. They played three games at home and participated in the Tuscola Invitational on Saturday playing another three games.

ALAH Falls Short to Marshall Lady Lions, 9-5

Marshall Lady Lions got things moving in the first inning as Haley McGuire drove in two when McGuire homered.

In the bottom of the second inning, ALAH tied things up at five when Mackenzie Condill singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

The Lady Lions pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning as Anna Strohm singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run and Lynn Welborn singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

The Knights notched three runs in the second inning driven by singles by both Condill’s.

Madison Schweighart was in the circle for ALAH as she allowed eight hits and eight runs over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Layla Deel threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

ALAH smacked one home run on the day as Condill had a long ball in the first inning.

The Knights racked up nine hits on the day with the Condill girls both managing multiple hits.

Despite Collecting Ten Hits, ALAH Falls to Coal City Lady Coalers

Even though the Knights collected ten hits to Coal City Lady Coalers’ nine, they still fell 7-5 on Saturday.

ALAH Softball got things moving in the first inning, when Alisha Frederick singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Coal City pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning.

Madison Schweighart was on the rubber for ALAH. The hurler surrendered seven runs on nine hits over four and a third innings, striking out one.

ALAH tallied ten hits in the game. Mackenzie Condill, Alisha Frederick, and Charley Condill all had two hits in the game.

Knights Takes Early Lead in Victory Over Oakwood Comets

An early lead helped ALAH defeat Oakwood Comets 8-5 on Saturday. The Knights scored on a home run by Mackenzie Condill, a single by Kailee Otto, a single by Layla Deel, a double by Anna Rawlins, a sacrifice fly by Alayna Plank, and a stolen base by Rawlins in the first inning.

Alisha Frederick led the team to victory in the circle allowing two hits and five runs over three innings, striking out one. Deel threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

ALAH racked up seven hits with Otto and Rawlins each managing two hits to lead the team.

4-Hit Day for Frederick as ALAH Skirts Past Heritage

Four hits from Alisha Frederick paved the way to victory for Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond over Heritage 17-2 on Friday. Frederick doubled in the first, doubled in the second, doubled in the third, and singled in the fourth.

In the first inning, ALAH got their offense started when Mackenzie Condill singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

The Knights tallied five runs in the fourth inning from Condill, Frederick, and Layla Deel as they all drove in runs in the frame.

Madison Schweighart took the win lasting two innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out two and walking one. Deel and Frederick entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Frederick led the team with four hits in four at bats.

ALAH Softball Beats Tuscola by ten Runs

The Knights cruised to an easy victory at home over Tuscola 12-2 on Wednesday.

The offense fired up in the first inning, when Kaci Beachy singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. They put up four runs in the third inning coming from Charley Condill, Mackenzie Condill, Alisha Frederick, and Kailee Otto all driving in runs in the frame.

Madison Schweighart took the win as the ace allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out one.

ALAH totaled 13 hits in the game. Frederick and Condill each had three hits to lead the team.

ALAH Softball Defeats Arcola in a Blow-Out Victory

Knights softball had all cylinders firing on offense at home on Monday, winning big over Arcola 11-1

ALAH fired up the offense in the first inning when Mackenzie Condill singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

They put up five runs in the third inning with Charley Condill, Mackenzie Condill, Alisha Frederick, and Kaci Beachy each having RBIs in the frame.

Madison Schweighart led the team to victory in the circle. The hurler surrendered one run on three hits over five innings, striking out eight.

The Knights racked up 11 hits in the game. Alisha Frederick socked one home run on the day and she along with Charley Condill had three hits to lead the team.
