ALAH senior baseball player Clay Seal had a signing ceremony at ALAH High School on Wednesday, May 10. Clay signed to continue his academic and baseball careers at Lake Land College in Mattoon. Clay is pictured here with his dad, Nathan, sister, Claire, and mom, Adrienne.
Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School is proud to announce that senior baseball student-athlete Clay Seal will be committing to continue his athletic participation on the intercollegiate level at Lake Land College.
Located in Mattoon, Illinois, Lake Land is a member of the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and competes at the NJCAA Division I level. The Lakers are led by Head Coach Julio Godinez. Coach Godinez is in his 5th season at Lake Land College.
Heading into his senior season, Seal has been a three-year varsity letter winner in baseball. Clay’s personal baseball accolades include: Second Team LPC All-Conference as a junior, and most valuable pitcher as a junior. Through 33 innings pitched this season, Clay has a 6-1 record with a 0.63 ERA with 61 strikeouts and has held his opponents batting average to .123. At the plate, Clay is hitting .396 with 17 RBI’s. Clay has been playing baseball since he was a 4th grader and has played with the Diamond Dogs and Yard Goats during the travel seasons.
Clay has been a multi-sport athlete throughout his high school career and has also earned varsity letters in golf and basketball. His personal golf accolades include LPC All-Conference as a senior and being an important part of the 2021, 2022, and 2023 LPC Conference championship teams. His personal basketball accolades include winning the Knight Award and Team Captain award as a senior. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Clay has been a high honor roll student each year in high school, is a member of the National Honor Society, has served as a tutor in the Math and Writing Center, is a freshman mentor, and is an Illinois State Scholar.
Clay is the son of Nathan and Adrienne Seal and is undecided on his major.
