Season Ends for Knights Softball in Second Round of Regionals

ALAH senior Kailee Otto #33 goes in standing as she steals second base in the second inning of the Regional softball game with CGB. The Knights would send 15 batters to the plate in the inning and score 10 runs to lead 15-0 after two. That would be the final score after three and a half innings.

The Knights advanced to the second round of regional play after defeating Cerro-Bement on Monday night in the first round hosted by Maroa-Forsyth. They faced the Unity Rockets on Wednesday evening and lost 2-4.

ALAH Defeated By Unity Rockets

The Knights got on the board in the first inning when Alisha Frederick grounded out, scoring one run.

Madison Schweighart took the loss for ALAH. The bulldog surrendered four runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out six.

Lindy Bates led the Rockets to victory in the circle. Bates allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Charley Condill, Kailee Otto, Alisha Frederick, Mackenzie Condill, Anna Rawlins, and Layla Deel all had one hit to lead the team.

With Madison On The Mound, ALAH Shuts Out Cerro Gordo-Bement

Madison Schweighart threw a shutout to lead ALAH past CGB 15-0 in the first game of regionals last Monday.

Charley Condill led the Knights to victory by driving in four runs. She went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in runs on a grand slam in the second inning.

ALAH opened up the scoring in the first inning, when Mackenzie Condill singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

The Knights tallied ten runs in the second inning with the offensive firepower led by Alisha Frederick, Kailee Otto, Anna Rawlins, and Charley Condill all driving in runs in the frame.

A single by Hunter Malone came in the second inning for the Broncos.

Schweighart was the winning pitcher for ALAH lasting four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out five.

Throneburg took the loss for Cerro Gordo-Bement. The hurler surrendered 15 runs on ten hits over two innings, striking out two.

ALAH didn’t commit a single error in the field, and they stole seven bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Rawlins led the way with two.

Malone led Cerro Gordo-Bement with one hit in two at bats.
