GRAND MARSHAL.

GRAND MARSHAL. Gail LeFever was named Grand Marshal by the Bement Community Council for this year’s honor of leading the parade. She has lived in Bement since 1973 when her husband Kent took a teaching position in the school district and they raised their two children in Bement as well. Gail has been delivering meals to the elderly or people who have difficulty getting around on their own for more than 20 years and is also active in the Lions Club and was instrumental in starting Senior Coffee Hour during the pandemic held at the Bement Public Library. Her 34 years in education makes her the perfect volunteer. Gail is pictured here getting ready to throw candy along the crowded parade route on a very hot July 4 afternoon.
