The Cerro Gordo Board of Education met Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in the auditorium.

After a short session, the board accepted with regret the resignations of Pre-K teacher Mandi Isaac and Kindergarten teacher Jennifer Taylor.

During the consent agenda portion, July bills totaling $370,474.30, minutes, and financial reports were approved.

The board thanked Krysie Williams for identifying and reporting fraudulent charges on a district credit card. Further business included changing all bank concerns from Brett Robinson and Molly Owens to Emily Weidner and Krysie Williams.

Superintendent Weidner wanted to thank the community, administration, and board for their welcome. She has planned individual meetings with staff members. Twenty-three people have signed up so far to meet her.

August 1 will begin online registration, followed by in-person registration on August 3 and 4. Back to School Night will be held on August 10.

The HVAC project continues with a surprise project. Once the brick was exposed on the interior side of the building, reinforcement of these bricks became a necessity. This work will be done by Friday. Air conditioning units will be in use until September when the permanent chiller will be installed.

The dishwasher and disposal in the jh/hs building will be replaced funds remaining from the food service program.

Lunch fees will increase: elementary, $2.75 to $3.00; jr. high/high school, $3.00 to $3.25.

The meeting was then adjourned.
