Fifty-eight ALAH Students Awarded Academic Letters

ALAH Senior Academic letter winners. These seniors, Evanger Wiley, Lucy Wilber, Kaylee Thompson, Claire Seal, and Kendall Burdick, along with 52 other ALAH high school students received an academic letter for the 2022-23 school year. Not available for the picture was Brooklyn Matheny. Nathan Tighe Receives Reserved Parking Place. Along with the academic letter winners senior Nathan Tighe, also a starting lineman on the Knights football team was recognized for scoring above 1230 on the SAT exam last spring. Nathan’s score earned him scholarship opportunities and a coveted reserved parking space in the high school parking lot!!

During halftime of the football game on Friday, September 1, fifty-eight students were awarded an academic letter.

The academic letter program is designed to promote, encourage, and honor academic excellence at Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School.

Criteria are a minimum of seven courses each semester, freshmen and sophomores must maintain a GPA of 3.6 for the entire academic school year.

Juniors and seniors must maintain a GPA of 3.8 for the entire academic school year.

Students can not have any D’s or F’s for the entire academic school year.

Academic letters are awarded on a yearly basis to students who meet all the requirements. Awards are certificates and a chenille letter. Students who have already been awarded a chenille letter in a previous year will be presented with a certificate and pin.

Those receiving letters on Friday were: Sophomores: Avery Alexander, Ryker Beckmier, Olivia Binion, Jada Bontreger, Ruby Burton, Lucas Butcher, Savannah Butcher, Alexandria Clark, Chloe Custer, Emma Forman, Easton Frederick, Brooklyn Gingerich, Cash Hale, Cruz Hale, Will Hilligoss, Tristan Keagle, Kimberly Krutsinger, Brayden Leech, Jakhany Medina, Summer Melton, Abigail Miller, Makenzie Miller, Kamden Morfey, Sierra Peeler, Anna Rawlins, Logan Schrock, Karaline Vanausdoll and Lily Vanda.

Juniors receiving letters were: Mitiku Appleby, Maggie Benedict, Sierra Binion, Kendall Carnahan, Mackenzie Condill, Layla Deel, Lilian Edwards, Sara Herschberger, Caitlyn Hoots, Kayla Johnson, Kori Klay, Kaylee McDaniel, Emmalee Nall, Alayna Plank, Dylan Price, Riley Robinson, Lindsay Rohacs, Kendall Schrock, Rialynn Slaughter, Maddix Stirrett, Alek Stutzman, Arik Stutzman, Danaysha Stutzman and Jacob Tighe.

Academic letters were also earned by seniors: Kendall Burdick, Brooklyn Matheny, Claire Seal, Kaylee Thompson, Lucy Wilber and Evanger Wiley.
