Arcola/ALAH girls win; boys nip Tuscola, fall to WSS

ARCOLA – The Arcola/Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond boys’ golf team nipped Tuscola for the second time this season, 182-184, but lost to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, who shot a 167 on September 12 at the Kaskaskia Country Club. The next day Arcola was the only team that had enough players for a team score as Tri-County and Decatur Unity Christian competed at the Kaskaskia Country Club. Arcola shot a 174.

On the girl’s side Arcola beat Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 232-252. C.C. Davis led all golfers with a 53.

The girls were the only squad that had enough players for a team score on Sept. 13 and finished with a 242 as Brooklyn Gingerich led the way with a 58.

Leading the way in the meet with Tri-County and Decatur Unity Christian was Canton Wesch with a 35. In the meet with Tuscola and WSS Kendall Schrock was the individual medalist with a 39.

Arcola was in the Mt. Zion Invitational last Friday, but results were unavailable at press time. The Knight-Riders played at St. Elmo against Sullivan and Altamont last Monday and traveled to the Moweaqua Country Club last Tuesday for the Lincoln

Prairie Conference match. After traveling to Mattoon Wednesday, Arocla plays host to Villa Grove Thursday (Sept. 21).
