The Mt. Zion Village Board met last Monday night to approve a bid for the Village Park West entrance project.
The entrance will service the new commercial and residential development currently under construction. The project is all on state right-of-way and includes pavement, ADA sidewalks, and drainage. The engineer’s estimate for the project was $178,000.
The Village only received one bid from Kenney Contractors, Inc. for the project in the amount of $180,500. Tyler Walker, Martin Engineering, designed the project and will lead out through the construction phase. The contract allows the contractor 6 weeks for completion.
Once the appropriate documents are executed, the project will be scheduled as soon as possible.
The board also discussed the 2023 Preliminary Proposed Tax Levy that will be voted on in the October meeting.
The next board meeting will be on October 16 at 5:15 p.m.
