Miller wins Central Illinois All-Star Three-Point Contest

TOLEDO –Arcola’s Jackson Miller was one of 15 players on the Lincoln Prairie Conference all-star basketball team and one of eight competing (four from the National Trial Conference in the three-point contest. Prior to the 31st all-star game Miller was one of four to advance the finals by making 12-of-15 in 45 seconds. Miller was the sixth person to shoot and made three on the first rack from the left side of the top of the key extended, was the only competitor to make all five from the top of the key and four from the right side of the top of the key extended.

Miller’s classmate Gerardo Alanis was also in the competition and made two, one and four for a total of seven of 15. He tied with two others and the three had a shoot off from each corner of the baseline (30 seconds) and Alanis made six, which was good for fifth place overall. Max Magnus of South Central made 8-of-10 to advance.
