Mt. Zion celebrates Homecoming week

Presenting Mt. Zion 2024 Homecoming Court. The Mt. Zion High School announced the 2024 Homecoming Court last week. The parade will step-off at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 2 and the Braves will host the Bulldogs from Mahomet-Seymour at 7:00 Friday evening. The dance and coronation will be held on Saturday, October 5. The Mt. Zion High School has a busy week as Homecoming is being celebrated September 30 through October 5. This year’s theme is Enchanted Evening.

The Homecoming Court was announced earlier and includes freshmen attendants Gabi Swisher and Noah Schmahl, sophomore’s Taylor Howell and Ethan Collier, and junior attendants Claire Simpson and Jaoa de Lima Oliveira.

Senior queen candidates include Ashlyn Ellis, Brynley Fisher, Kayley Garner, and Madi Moore. King candidates are Ronnie Cole, Sammy Driscoll, Brayden Trimble, and Tristan Wirey.

Dress up days were Fairy Tale (dress up as a magical character) on Monday, Hansel and Gretel (twin with someone else) on Tuesday, Tail as old as time (dress up like the elderly) on Wednesday, Good vs. Evil (pick a side) on Thursday, and Friday dress Once upon a time at

Mt. Zion (seniors in black, juniors in red, sophomores in grey, and freshmen in white).

The homecoming parade will start at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 2.

Events on Friday include an assembly along with games being played and the announcement of the king and queen. The Braves take on the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs at 7:00 pm that evening.

The Homecoming dance will be held Saturday, October 5 from 8:00-11:00in the big gym with coronation at 9:30 pm.
