ARTHUR QUILT SHOW
QUILT SHOW WINNERS. Taking home the Best of Show was Mary Traxler of Hammond with her “Applique Affair” quilt at the 35th Annual Arthur Quilt Show held April 30-May 2 at the Otto Center. The quilt is a pattern by Edyta Sitar and was quilted by Elaina Grathwohl from Mt. Pulaski. Traxler completed the applique on the quilt in 2018 but COVID happened and it didn’t get quilted so she took it to Grathwohl in July of 2025 who completed it in September of 2025. Traxler also won Best of Show back in 2022. Below is Connie Kroll of St. Joe who won the People’s Choice ribbon for her “30”s Quilt” which she made and quilted herself from 1930’s fabric. Kroll said after she completed the embroidery blocks it took her about a year to finish the quilt. This quilt is a wedding gift for her granddaughter that is getting married June 20 but she is giving it to her at the bridal shower on May 16 so she can see her open the gift. There were 112 quilts entered in this years show and the winner of the “American Ambassador” quilt raffle was Pat Howard from Illiopolis.
