Wish Sims

Rosemary “Wish” Ann Sims, 79, of Mount Vernon, IL, passed away at 12:15 pm June 21, 2026 at  in Mount Vernon, IL. She was born January 6, 1947 in Tuscola, IL to Ray Edward and Joan Elizabeth (Michael) Dunn. Rosemary “Wish” married Greg Sims on  July 28, 1969.

Rosemary “Wish” is survived by her husband Greg Sims of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; daughter, Courtney King of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 2 sons, Ryan Sims of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Kai Sims of New Hampshire; grandchildren’ Tru Hopkins, Slevin King and Lennon Sims.

Rosemary “Wish” was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Charles “Chuck” Peas, brother, Melvin Dunn and sister, Jane Good.

Rosemary “Wish” was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Inurnment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. Family will greet friends from 9:30 AM till the Memorial Mass begins. Monsignor David Darin will officiate. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
