Knights JV Girls, Boys Track and Field Compete at Salt Fork

The ALAH Knights girls and boys jr. varsity track and field squads had an opportunity to have a meet of their own at Salt Fork High School on Monday, April 22. Given that chance they made the most of it by the girls winning their division with 155 points over host Salt Fork, 143; Urbana University High, 61 and Rantoul High School, 58. The boys were second with 95 behind Unity, 148; and ahead of Uni-High,93; Salt Fork, 91 and Rantoul, 59.
Both groups had five first place finishes. For the girls, Morgan Casteel won the 400 meters in a PR of 1:08.04; Cassidy Rohacs won the high jump with a PR of 4’ 9.75”; and Brookelynn Peeler was first in the triple jump at 29’ 5.25”. The distance girls, Kimberly Krutsinger, Morgan Casteel, Embrey Reardon, and Ruby Burton showed their skill range winning the 4 X 1 sprint relay in 58.13 and winning one of their usual relays, the longer 4 X 4 with a time of 4:35.64.
In the boys’ division, Easton Frederick was a double winner taking firsts in the 100 at 12.02 and the 200 in 24.53. Other individual winners for the ALAH JV boys were Cooper Shoemaker in the high jump with yet another PR of 5’ 11.5” and Cash Hale winning the triple jump with a leap of 38’ 6.25”. The 4 X 2 relay of Cruz and Cash Hale, Justin Schrock and Frederick picked up a first in that race at 1:38.29.
