The ALAH high school boys track and field team competed in the annual St. Joseph-Ogden Spartan Classic on Friday, April 26. The meet is boys only and provides many fresh/soph opportunities for competition as well as excellent varsity battles of some of the top track and field athletes in this area. Unfortunately, weather allowed only seven of eighteen varsity events and two of five FS events to be completed.

The Fresh/soph Knights scored in both events that were completed. The 4 X 1 relay of Cruz Hale, Daylon Doggett, Brennon Hutson, and Easton Frederick took second place with a time of 45.89. Sophomore Frederick placed sixth in the FS 100 with a time of 11.88. Freshman Doggess also ran the 100 with a time of 12.32.

The Knights saw action in five of the seven varsity events which were Cooper Shoemaker in the high jump at 5’ 10”, and the 800 meters at 2:35.73; Nate Hale ran a PR of 13.09 in the 100; Mason Thomas also ran a 13.09 in the 100; Brennon Hutson in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 19.15; and Cash Hale in the high jump with a jump of 5’ 6”. Cash and Cruz Hale, Justin Schrock, and Easton Frederick ran the varsity 4 X 2 in 1:37.12.

The JV Knights were to have a meet at Tuscola on Monday, April 29 and then will travel to Argenta-Oreana for the fourth annual Lincoln Prairie Conference track and field meet on Friday, May 3. The meet will begin at 2:45 p.m.
