CGB Jr. High Track and Field at Annual Jr. High Okaw Conference Meet
CGB seventh grader Sophia Ferguson, lane 7 races an Arcola and a Villa Grove girl in the 100 meter dash at the Jr. High Okaw Conference meet on April 29. Sophia ran a 14.77 to place sixth in the race.

On Monday, April 29, the CGB Bulldog jr. high track and field teams competed in the annual Jr. High Okaw Conference meet hosted by the ALAH Jr. High Knights.
The seventh grade girls finished in fourth place while the eighth grade was fifth in the eight team meet. The seventh grade 4 X 2 relay took first with Sophia Ferguson, Maci Mills, Avery Stoerger, and Maggie Petty combining to run a time of 2:02.17. The eighth grade had two individual conference champions, Madisen Callaway in the 1600 with a time of 6:10.37 and Addison Frantz in the 100 meter hurdles in 19.04.
Both CGB seventh and eighth grade boys team finished in seventh place in the team standings. Eighth grader Silas Olson came close to a conference championship with a second place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:35.51.
