Knights JV Girls and Boys Track and Field Compete at Salt Fork

On Monday, April 29 the ALAH Knights freshman and sophomores track and field team members went to Tuscola for their annual Fresh/Soph Invite. This meet gives some of the younger athletes a chance at competing with their peers. No team scores are kept at the meet.

Ruby Burton won the 400 meters in a PR time of 1:03.63 for an ALAH girls’ first place individual performance. The girls best events at the meet were the relays where they won three of the four contested. They were the 4 X 2 of Grace Romine, Summer Melton, Skyler Graham, and

Burton who ran a 1:52.53; the 4 X 4 relay of Graham, Josie Carrillo, Lily Vanda and Burton with a winning time of 4:27.0; and the 4 X 8 relay with Carrillo, Kimberly Krutsinger, Morgan Casteel, and Burton who ran 10:57.8. The girls placed in twelve of the sixteen events they were entered in.

The Knights boys team won the 4 X 1 relay with Cruz Hale, Daylon Doggett, Brennon Hutson, and Easton Frederick running a time of 45.62; Several Knights boys placed in twelve events also.

The season is winding for the high school track and field teams. After the Lincoln Prairie Conference meet on May 3, the girls enter post season competition at Central A & M for their IHSA Sectional. The boys will have their Sectional at Okaw Valley on Wednesday, May 15.
