Jr. High Knight Beau Green Wins the Little Trojan XC Invitational
Knights sixth grader Camden Casteel comes toward the finish line of the Little Trojan XC Invite on September 7. Camden ran 14:05.69 to finish in 39th out of the 129 boys in the race. Camden was the third sixth grader to cross the finish line.

The Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond jr. high cross country team competing in their first ever season ran in their first large invite, eleven schools, on Saturday, September 7. The Little Trojan is hosted by Charleston Middle School and held on the campus of Eastern Illinois University in conjunction with the Charleston High School XC Invitational. The jr. high course is two miles long.
Knights eighth grader Beau Green crossed the finish line first in the boys race with a time of 11:16.87. There were 129 runners in the boys’ race. Sixth grader Camden Casteel was the other boys’ runner for ALAH and he was 36th in 14:05.69.
The Knights had two runners in the girls’ division. Gwen Herring was the first ALAH girl to cross the finish line. She was 12th with a time of 14:35.51. Brianda Guzman ran the two mile course in 15:51.75 to take 36th. There were 91 runners in the girls’ race.
