ALAH volleyball winning streak at four, undefeated in LPC

ARTHUR– Tri-City/Sangamon Valley, Sullivan and Cerro Gordo/Bement volleyball teams were all victims of Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond last week as the Knights improved to 9-4 overall and 3-0 in the Lincoln Prairie Conference, which is tied with Unity Chrisitan.

Arthur has won four straight prior to Tuesday’s match at Cumberland. ALAH picked up two conference victories sweeping Sullivan 28-26, 25-12 Sept. 17 and cruising past Cerro Gordo/Bement 25-11, 25-14 last Thursday. Both matches were at Arthur. The only non-conference match last week was a 25-13, 25-22 triumph over Tri-City/Sangamon Valley Sept. 16.

Junior Savannah Butcher continues to be among the leaders in kills for the Knights as she had a team-high 12 in the win over Cerro Gordo/Bement. Karline Vanausdoll led in digs with seven, while Alyana Plank had 20 assists. Butcher and Condill had two aces each.

In the other two matches Karlaline Vanasudoll had 21 digs to lead the way, while Butcher had 23 kills, Plank 43 assists, Butcher two blocks, Plank and Mackenzie Condill had three aces each.

The top hitters on the team with averages of 3.4, 2.6 and 2.2 kills per set are Butcher, Summer Melton and freshman Bell Romine respectively.
